Northern Hospitality Awards Announces 2009 Finalists

The finalists for the 2009 Northern Hospitality Awards, which take place on Monday 30 March at the Hilton, Manchester Deansgate, have been announced today, Friday 6 March 2009. 

The awards are split into eight categories - Best Restaurant, Best Newcomer, Best Hotel, Best Wine Offering, Best Bar, Best Pub, Best General Manager and Best Chef.  These are the only hospitality awards which recognise and celebrate all that is good about the Northern hospitality business.

Thom Hetherington, MD of Moorfield Media, the award’s organiser said:  “This year we have been inundated with entries as the Northern Hospitality Awards grow in popularity.  The judges have had a tough time picking the finalists as the standard is so high, showing we have a lot of talent to be proud of in the North.”

Now its fourth year, the awards has moved location and is holding its black tie awards ceremony at the Hilton Manchester, Deansgate.  The event is invitation only and the guests will eat a delicious three course meal created by head chef David Gale, who is also a finalist for Best Chef. Nigel Barden will be the compere for the evening; he is a food & drink presenter on BBC Radio 2’s Chris Evans Show.
